Review of Balls Out (2014) by Nik K — 28 Jun 2015
A well done parody of movies we've all seen a hundred times.
Being a sports parody, the movie is more about the moments than the story so don't expect any mind blowing plot points. The improvised moments were truly laugh out loud, the more scripted jokes not so much.
This movie definitely has the vibe of a future cult classic, especially once some of the actors move on to become stars.
Stellar performances by Kate McKinnon, Nick Rutherford, Jake Lacy, and Nikki Reed. Bummer to see Jay Pharoah so uncomfortable on screen.
