Bad Lieutenant is operating on so many brilliant levels. Harvey Keitel is so authentic, one of the best performance i've ever seen. He so naturally acts, talks and walks the part of the Lieutenant its scary.
The Bad Lieutenant is NC-17 for a reason so be prepared. It's so gritty but it needs to be in order to pull off a story like this. I hope that with Herzog and Nic Cage remaking this that fans of film go back and see Abel Ferrara's brilliant piece of work.
