Review of Awarapan (2007) by Chan N — 04 Aug 2007
Not an indi movie buff. Certainly not an Emran Hashmi fan. Was my first indi flick on the big screen. To be honest, I wasnt bored as I had anticipated. Movie was blessed with a storyline inspired by the south korean flick Dalkomhan insaeng (Bitter Sweet Life) and average performances, which were well supplemented with a pretty neat soundtrack and some very scenic backdrops. The two Roxen songs i.e. Tera Mera and Tou phir Aao took the cake.
The fact that most of the songs were situational background soundtracks which in itself was a welcome change from the dancing around the tree south asian touch. Ashutosh as usual was ace. Emran seemed lost with no kissing scenes though.
Overall not too bad...!
