Review of August Underground's Mordum (2003) by Welsh Y — 28 Jun 2008
Trumpeted as the "sickest movie ever", "Mordum" had a lot to live up to, and sadly it doesn't even come close. Granted it's grubby, gruesome and has a very black heart, but there's nothing to contextualise or humanise the tedious brutality.
Certainly this could be argued to be the very point of its existence, but at the end of the day it's still a boring, completely unaffecting experience. Very disappointing indeed - for pure revulsion "Scrapbook" is probably a better option.
