WARNING : NOT FOR EVERYONE.
This is the only film by Takashi Miike that I care for at all. (Still waiting to see The Happiness of the Katakuris) Nothing is as it seems here. It starts off as a rather melodramatic story of a guy that loses his wife. Then it becomes a bit comedic as, years later, he begins searching for a new wife at the suggestion from his son. Gears shift yet again when questions arise about the true identity of the woman he is now smitten with arise. From here, it becomes an obsessive search for the truth until the disturbing, final act of the film. Grotesque and intriguing; it makes Fatal Attraction look like Swimfan.
