Review of At Close Range (1986) by Matt M — 30 Oct 2007
Walken and Penn are brilliant as father and son in this brooding true story about a wayward young man seeking refuge in the company of his father's band of professional thieves. A complex and truly dark film about the contradictory nature of the family unit after loyalty and love have been reduced to expendable vices.
Accompanied by a beautiful yet haunting rendition of Madonna's Live to Tell.
