Arrival is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen (if not the greatest). From the very beginning, Arrival sucks you into a thought provoking and emotional story. Director Dennis Villenueve is a master at creating spectacular visuals and the first look at the "shell" in Montana was one of the greatest shots I have ever seen. Amy Adams & Jeremy Renner create spectacular performances as their characters and if they didn't, they deserve at least an Oscar nomination. Arrival also teaches you about language and how it can be messy and how you can rewire your brain into a new one when learning a new one (I am learning Spanish and this is actually true as sometimes it gets hard for me to write in English as the order of sentences are flipped around. This is a great movie and I recommend it to anyone with time on their hands and are looking for a thrill ride.
