Review of April Snow (2005) by Jessica L — 12 Jul 2008
This is the sad-happy melodrama Korean sweeping romantic movie I keep a secret from everyone... I've seen it some four times, and while definitely a chic flick, I still feel that BYJ and Son Ye-jin performed beautifully in this film.
Relatively light in dialog they were still able to convey so much of their character's despair, frustration and ultimately a moment of falling in love; without these two actors this film would never have been substantial or even one-time viewer friendly.
The story itself has some hiccups in trying to smoothly transition the characters' friendship to romance but, despite this I'm drawn in by their heated chemistry. A great film for a date, or if you're a sap like me, something to watch proudly on your own, but to me this was a buy just because I was such a fan of the actors' capabilities.
