Review of Apostle (2018) by Dmlyxcritic — 30 Jan 2020
I have to admit, this movie looks good. The cinematography is handled well as well as the production design. The problem with Apostle is the story-telling. The movie offered little to no background at all and the character motivations are not clear.
That and the massive plot-holes this film has. This is the type of movie that does not know what it wants to focus, because there are a lot, worsening its convolutedness. The acting is unremarkable, but I have to give credit to Michael Sheen's performance.
