Review of Annie Oakley (1935) by Daniel K — 09 Dec 2009
Fun but awfully silly veersion of the Annie Oakley story. Barbara Stanwyk gives it all she's got, and this is what makes the movie work. What makes it not work was the tremendous liberties the filmmakers had with the story.
I mean, I'm not well versed on Buffalo Bill, Annie Oakley and the wild West, but even I could see the hookum coming a mile away.
