Review of And Soon the Darkness (2010) by Joe A — 28 Dec 2010
Just another run of the mill terror trip movie.
It has 'Turistas', and 'The Ruins' written all over.
Dont get me wrong; I love Amber and Odette and they actually do feel like real people.
The 1st half is a nice little intro.
The 2nd half is strange, it takes 40 min to get things moving.
But the 3rd act sadly falls into slasher territory.
Who's idea was it also to kill off one of the main leads halfway thru? :/.
Plus no question to contemplate that you should always take caution when traveling a foreign country.
There's also sadly some gaping plotholes that get left unanswered like Michael's gf: was she or wasnt she killed after being kidnapped and who was this ex-bf of Amber Heard anyway?
Could have been better but it does tell you to be smart and avoid total strangers.
There's barley any suspense, too.
We've just seen stuff like this too much already.
