A somber German film that heavily resembles period-piece Rohmer. Amour Fou is a film about Melancholic characters that manages to stray from being overly bleak, while also offering up some gorgeous shots.
While some of it's political/hisotrical material may get lost in the impact fulness of the overall story, Amour Fou is fascinating through its craft and performances very well enough.
