American Beauty is a dark drama movie about a family dysfunction and depression. Kevin Spacey as the man who tried to survive in the mid-crisis gave one of the brilliant performance ever after The Usual Suspect, the man who has convinced himself to the world that he did not exist.
The movie is also one of the debuts of Sam Mendes as the director and Alan Ball as the screenwriter who managed to five Oscar awards in home. This is an original and fresh idea about satire and dark comedy which is very touching inside.
One of the movie which can be said as the perfect movie.
