Review of Aisha (2010) by Harpreet S — 20 Aug 2010
I had no expectations for this Indian movie, except the fact that living in Toronto the world's largest multicultural hub allows one to see what the rest of the world has to offer with ease. Aisha plays out with naive and simple premise of a rich girl who matchmakes her way through friends only to realize the negative consequences.
Yes it's borrowed from Jane Austen's Emma, but also from Clueless and My Best Friend's Wedding. Nonetheless the actors are charming and the movie flows with nothing else than it was intended to; a overplayed lovestory.
