Review of A Most Wanted Man (2014) by Jay A — 04 Jan 2015
In the wake of a major terrorist attack, paranoia amongst national security folks created a cold but thrilling tempest over the teacup of what I believe was a harmless Muslim Chechen immigrant genuinely desiring to lead a new life.
These are my kind of thrillers. Drab weather; cold, moist walls and cobblestones; efficient, no-nonsense characters -- positively European. Had been thinking about reading John Le Carre classics and this movie only re-affirmed my desire.
After that thrilling climax, I would understand their choice for a conclusion. This is an intelligent movie that does not bend with the viewer's emotions and notions of justice and that ending is a reminder that it has not lost its grips to reality.
