Review of A Mighty Wind (2003) by Justin K — 16 Apr 2008
Hey! Wha happened? This movie is one of my all time favorites. There isn't a single bad scene and the relationship between Mitch & Mickey is easily one of the most convincing and tragic I have ever seen on screen. I'm an enormous fan of Christopher Guest, but in this one he seemed to hit it out of the park (for me). I'm a huge music fan and have seen hundreds of music docs, so this hit all the right notes, and the performances are top notch all round... with special mention going to some of my favorite performers, Michael McKean and Fred Willard... the notion that what comes out of their mouths is ad libbed is just incredible. Willard can't talk without being hilarious.
30 albums and 10 years later we were through.
Absolutely brilliant - I can't recommend it enough.
