Review of A Lesson Before Dying (1999) by Lady D — 02 Aug 2008
This is a sad movie that is very well done. It is beautifully filmed and all of the main characters are very well acted. You expect that from Don Cheadle, but I was especially impressed by Irma Hall who played the grandmother who had raised the young man awaiting the death sentence.
Her tenacity in reaction to his being characterized as a "hog" by his public defender is amazing and wonderfully portrayed by Ms. Hall.
