Review of A Girl Like Grace (2015) by Connor D — 28 Sep 2015
This needs to get publicity! It was gripping, related-able, believably, and I felt endless emotions watching it. I saw it at the Milwaukee Film Festival and got to meet most of the cast there, including the amazing Raven Simone, but that beside the point. This movie followed the character, Grace who is a lower class teenager who recently lost her best friend from suicide and it shows her painful experiences following. It is extremely moving if you have had someone who has killed themselves and brought back a lot of emotions for me, but a.
Showed it perfectly. It also tackles hard subjects like rape, violence, drug abuse, sexual identity and parenting. The most amazing part of the movie is it felt like you were not watching actors, they felt so real and I loved everything about this movie.
