Review of A Film with Me in It (2008) by Jamie P — 23 Feb 2012
Short Irish comedy about Mark an unemployed actor and his best friend, jobless screenwriter, Pierce. They live in a somewhat derelict building and, in twist of fate, an increasing number of people have bizarre accidents and die during a weird afternoon. Worried about the unlikeness of the situation they decide not to report the deaths to the police however bodies keep turning up.
This is sort of "divertimento", an unpretentious comedy about two men facing some hilarious odds. It is a very black comedy, lots of "deadly" jokes and corpses. Cinematographally isn't great but I had fun and it is original. (Fanatics of health and safety look away now). I don't remember when was the last time I watched an Irish movie that wasn't about the IRA but it was worth it.
