Review of A Field in England (2013) by Matty S — 07 Apr 2014
Ben Wheatley's best film yet. This surrealistic and experimental movie is more than a bit confusing with only one viewing, but this is more about the art of film than the plot. Not that there isn't plenty of plot going on -- it is just that the visuals and the performances are what makes this odd film so interesting.
Certainly not for all tastes and you might sometimes want to grab hold of that robe to be pulled back to sanity. Brilliant work. Go ahead, open up and let the devil in.
