Review of A Dog Year (2009) by Heidi B — 18 May 2011
This film has a lot of similarities to Marley And Me, but the latter is clearly a stronger movie. This is a very short feature film cutting off at 75 minutes, which is fine but I couldnt help feeling there needed to be at least an extra 15 minutes.
It doesnt feel totally complete from an audiences point of view. It's a good film to watch, and especially if you're fond of dogs. But it just feels like there's no real flow, and its difficult for an audience t feel totally content with it.
Jeff Bridges is always great to watch, and him and the Border Collie are the stand outs, but its always difficult for actors to save a script thats not strong enough. But this movie is most definitely watchable, and some might enjoy it very much.
