Review of 49th Parallel (1941) by Markian B — 02 Sep 2007
A WWII film about Nazis marooned in Canada... filled with gorgeous scenery... Inuit & Hutterite villages... Winnipeg looking like Times Square and RCAF HQ looking like the set of Star Trek. Then there's the unintentionally comical stereotypes, the highlight of which is Sir Laurence Olivier as a Quebecois trapper.
Still, a fascinating look at Canada in the 1940s.
