Review of 12 Years a Slave (2013) by Lee C — 24 Sep 2014
This is not a film to enter into lightly. It's a harrowing tale that doesn't let up for an instant. There are scenes that are toe curling to watch but are also absolutely captivating and illustrate the ignorance and barbarity in the most brutal way.
The time of the film swept by and left me feeling exhausted mentally. This is essential viewing but, be aware, be in the right frame of mind before embarking on this arduous journey.
