Review of 10 Minutes Gone (2019) by Flawrencis — 02 Nov 2019
It’s imagining the writers typing that made me angry throughout this movie. Yeah, Bruce Willis’s performance was a performance in the worst way and it’s like he refused to do more than one take. Yes, the editing is terrible - particularly the way it leaves gaps where responses should be quick and it’s like the dialogue is out of order.
And yes the action is terrible and illogical - everything about the motel lobby scene with the woman was infuriatingly implausible. But it’s the way the writers used every cliche with pride. Including the twist.
You’re watching it and you want so badly for their to be any other possible twist. Something to keep some mystery alive. But based on the terrible dialogue, you’re sure that this twist is as inevitable as it is obvious.
It’s like a child who has hidden something from you behind his back. It’s poking out over his shoulder and he’s got a big smile as you make fake guesses.
