Review of Valhalla Rising (2009) by P M — 29 Dec 2010
Criminally boring and almost equally pretentious. Fantastic imagery and sound design, but that's all that's salvageable from this awful film. Any engaging action is squandered by the comical blood splatter effect - probably on purpose to make it more "arthouse" - and long scenes of nothing are interrupted by laughably self-important titles like "Chapter VI: The Sacrifice.
" This movie is terrible, and anyone who considers this "brilliant" - and Nicolas Winding Refn - is a complete douchebag.
