Review of Threads (1985) by Gavin T — 27 Sep 2009
Yes, the docu-film may not have the latest state of the art effects, yes it doesn't have much great acting (with possible exception of Karen Meagher). However, this film is a must watch. It certainly should be if you are a politician!
The film is grim, shocking, depressing. I found the hospital scene to be particularly upsetting, with the sheer amount of screams.
As the film states at the start "In an urban society, everything connects. Each person's needs are fed by the skills of many others. Our lives are woven together in a fabric. But the connections that make society strong also make it vulnerable. " Its something I will always think about, and will probably play on my mind for the next few days.
