Review of The Namesake (2006) by Mark Z — 14 Jan 2009
A touching, well-acted story of an immigrant experience equally unique and universal. This film reminded me of "In America", another great family film but "The Namesake" covers a much larger span of about 20-25 years.
Subtle touches and low-key emotions do much for the film and the locations, particularly those in India, are breathtaking and beautifully shot.
