Review of The Innkeepers (2011) by Jacob M — 14 May 2012
InnKeepers - TRASH IT (C-).
"InnKeepers" is a story about two Inn keepers, two guests and one Inn. Inn Keepers is very disappointing because from it seemed different and more believable horror like Paranormal Activity.
Unfortunately, it disappoints as almost in first 40minutes we see two Innkeepers talking about catching ghosts. Pat Healy is completely miscast, since he is not creepy or funny or geeky enough. Sara Paxton was great in "Last House of the Left", average in mediocre "Shark Night 3D" and good in "Enter Nowhere". In InnKeepers, she got the simple look perfectly but failed to make honest screams as most of the times she seemed pretentious while screaming. This is a huge flaw for a scream actress. Lena Dunham, the narcissist girl from "HBO'Girls" was for one scene and she was as annoying as she is in "Girls". Kelly McGillis is alright.
Overall, an InnKeepers disappoints in creating type of scare or fear. There are few seats jumping moments but they're used million types before. There was no originality in the script. I 'm Disappointed.
