Review of The Green Inferno (2013) by Daniel S — 30 Sep 2015
This movie had been in distribution for over 2 years before finally getting a release thanks to Blumhouse, I knew all the reviews said the dialogue and acting werent that good (as per all of Eli Roths films) but I admit im a horror junkie, and had seen Cannibal Holocaust on which this is inspired, and wanted to see how crazy the gore in this was (maybe I just have sick sensibilities :p) , honestly this was way tamer than I thought it would be, maybe im just de sensitized after all these years, but it wasnt anything I hadnt seen before, and really didnt push the boundaries of the R rating, but it still looked impressive, thats greg nicotero for you, I wasnt expecting much from the main actors, but they actually were better than I thought theyd be, I adnit I liked the sense of being totally lost with a tribe, and not knowing how they will react since their way of life is so far removed from ours, however where the film started to annoy me was when it tried to really hammer down some sort of message about activists and cultures, I dont even know what the point was, it was kind of all over the place, and the ending pissed me off, and the post credit sequence was fucking stupid, dont pay money to see it :p.
