Review of Susan Lenox (Her Fall and Rise) (1931) by Tara H — 14 Mar 2016
Despite a promisingly gritty start, this soon descends into the kind of soapy melodrama that MGM liked to waste Garbo's talents in. She is still utterly compelling, of course, and her co-star was an up-and-coming Clark Gable (they reportedly didn't get along, and never worked together again.
) To be watched for historical value only.
