Review of Pink Flamingos (1976) by Sam D — 24 Sep 2009
The description calls this a comedy, but I fail to see whats funny about it. I'm desensitised, so this film lacked that cutting edge it was notoriously given when it was first created by John Waters.
This film lacks any real value other than a few mild shocks and a plot lost in the realm of the surreal. Featuring rape, torture, animal sacrifices, scat and many more OUT THERE themes, this is deserving of its place in the Hall of Fame for the most extreme films, but the low budget and tongue in cheek material is too odd for its own good.
