Review of Roman (2006) by Tristan P — 30 May 2008
It's tempting to describe ROMAN as MAY with the director and star's roles reversed, but I think that would be selling ROMAN short. Angle Bettis's direction is creative without being needlessly flashy or pretentious, and Lucky McKee's acting is very good, he's vulnerable without being whiny. In other words, ROMAN is a lot more than just a film starring a director and directed by an actor.
Kristen Bell and Nectar Rose are both great in this, too.
ROMAN has a great ending, and would make a good double feature with Joel Moore & Adam Green's SPIRAL.
