Review of Paper Heart (2009) by Andrew P — 23 Dec 2009
This movie belongs to Charlyne Yi. Just when you think her character might be getting a little too cute and too hipster for you, she pulls back and shows a subtle vulnerability that really threw me for a loop.
Michael Cera needs to stop playing the timid Michael Cera roles, though. It's hard to believe someone as charming as Yi would be interested in a guy like him - it's really the only place where the movie stumbles.
Still, it's fun to watch Yi cute her way through the interviews, and you leave the movie feeling warm inside.
