Review of Harlan County U.S.A. (1977) by C. S — 25 Mar 2013
An unflinching look at the coal miner's strike in eastern Kentucky during the early 1970s. The doc gives the viewer unprecedented access to every angle of the long dispute, from the striking workers & their families to company thugs firing on them, to the mine bosses and union bosses strategizing.
This is a great full access doc about America paired with a brilliant soundtrack. No question why it won an Academy Award.
