Review of Capturing the Friedmans (2003) by Clara B — 09 Jan 2008
A truly remarkable film. I sat in an audience of filmmakers, and at the end of the film, about every person in the room was cry. Andrew Jarecki does an incredible job turning a possible witch hunt, or exoneration documentary, into a memorable parley of both emotion and ambiguity.
The complete breakdown of a tight knit family makes for unbelievable cinema. Take some notes Michael Moore, this film takes a subject and allows the audience to be the judge. this film is a must watch.
