Review of Bright Young Things (2003) by Gurnles G — 07 Feb 2008
A very timely story. This movie takes us through the world of excess and debauchery, gossip, money and the want of money. It takes you right into the belly of the beast while still maintaing somewhat of a fair and even portrait of all of the characters.
Most of them hint at their growing dissatisfaction and emptiness, until eventually most of them come to a drastic reversal of fortunes. Extremely well written and intelligent. The performance by Stephen Campbell Moore was outstanding and really took this movie above and beyond.
Emily Mortimer's performance was very good as well. They both brought amazing depth and portrayed the ambilvalence and uncertainty of their characters which really made this film such a joy.
