Review of Baadasssss! (2004) by Michael K — 31 Dec 2007
Mario Van Peebles biopic of his dad's filming of Sweet Sweetback's Baadassss Song, tackling the social issues of the time and the frustrations/difficulties that his father had in making the film.
There's a bit of a lull in the middle of the film but it's a fascinating story that mixes the standard biopic presentation with flashbacks to the film it's following and the soundtrack is great.
