Review of The History Boys (2006) by Eurwen W — 22 Aug 2010
Brilliant. I'm not a huge fan of Alan Bennett, however saw this and loved it instantly. Richard Griffiths is fantastic as Hector, who is lost in his own world of literature and teaches for life, not to pass exams. Frances De La Tour's wonderful Mrs Lintott shines like a light in the testosterone-fuelled school. The eight History Boys are well cast and include some of the best young acting talent around.
Great pity I didn't get to see the play with the original cast (who were all in the film), any other cast just wouldn't be the same.
