Review of Sukiyaki Western Django (2007) by David F — 01 Mar 2009
What happens when you add the cinematic ingredients of Akira Kurasowa's Yojimbo mixed with Sergio Corbucci's Django add a dash of The Man With No Name and a shaving of Quentin Tarantino with Takashi Miike at the helm? You get one hell of a ride!
This movie has all the flair of East meets the Wild West and then some. From the great comedy bits to the blood and gore and the beautiful cinematography. Takashi Miike once again pulls off a masterpiece (in my opinion) that creates a very genuine western genre film.
