Review of Society (1989) by Ted W — 19 Jun 2015
It's a fairly subpar movie, but goes off-the-walls in the last half hour and becomes something so much more. It's horrific, disgusting, and truly horror. I loved it. My only problem is that I find Brian Yuzna direction not to be that inspired.
He's been involved with some great horror movies, no doubt, but I just can't help but wonder what a movie like Society would have been like with a director like David Lynch, Takashi Miike (although this movie was long before his popularity), or David Cronenberg.
Still, Society is a must-see for fans of body horror movies or just want something disgusting and slimy.
