Review of Mouchette (1967) by David S — 21 Apr 2010
An almost perfect example of minimalist filmmaking. A film with very little dialogue for the most part, but a hell of a lot to say. There are many themes here, but I really like the scenes where Bresson touches on the theme of Christian hypocrisy.
This is one very bleak and tragic story.
