Honestly, I can see why many people would not like this film. It is a promise of one type of film, but then lurches into another. It is best to go into this film expecting a twisted variation on film noir (check some classic film noir and you'll see where I get this comparison from).
I did like this, very much. The visuals were great and Mark Wahlberg is consistently great as the wounded everyman. Can't wait to see if an unrated version comes out on DVD because some scenes seemed to have their teeth removed.
