Review of Heavy Metal 2000 (2000) by Tristan G — 10 Feb 2008
It took almost 20 years before a sequel to the first "Heavy Metal" movie based on the comic with the same name would be released. But instead of being a movie with different segments this is only one story.
A man named Tyler (Michael Ironside) finds a shard of evil the Loc-Nar (from the first movie) and becomes insane. He goes out to find the so called 'fountain of immortality' but on his way he makes a stop on a space colony planet and kills it's inhabitants, but misses one, a woman named Julie (Julie Strain), who becomes obsessed with taking revenge on Taylor.
For me the solid one story movie works better than the previous movie. The music is better (a lot in 'metal' has changed since 1981) and the movie has some great animations. Still the storyline and characters could have been better.
