[color=white][/color][color=#ffffff]It's a crime that this film hasn't been fully embraced as one of the great Japanese movies ever made. Along with "Tokyo Story" and "Good Morning," this is one of Yasujiro Ozu's towering achievements.
The story is slow-moving but still captivating, while the color cinematography is so well-handled that each shot holds some sort of cryptic message or beautiful symbol.[/color].
