Review of Fear of a Black Hat (1994) by Jason D — 22 Feb 2008
Very, very funny mockumentary centering on the rising popularity of Hip Hop before it all went to shit (Also, as I side note, anyone who like Rap or Hip-Hop that is played on radio or MTV is a fucking moron. If you think it's a valid form of music like the moron under me, then you should die).
Back to the movie though, there were some moments that I could barely breathe because of how funny they were. There were also a few pop culture references that I even remember as a young kid when this came out. Terrific flick that even pays homage to Spinal Tap with their drummers always dying, only it's now the managers who wind up kicking the bucket.
Here's to preserving the Hip Hop of the past and a holocaust of everything that is played today! Here, Here!
