Review of Days of Glory (2006) by Gary H — 14 Jul 2007
(Spoiler) Glory meets Band of Brothers, though it falls short of both. I didn't think much of this film while watching it. It's not too compelling and the battle scenes pale in comparison to films like Saving Private Ryan.
However, the ending redeems itself. In the end, they aren't recognized for their efforts. They were used by a desperate French government then thrown away. Maybe it's just the cynic in me, but I feel that this message is trumped all too often by that of the underestimated, proving the nay-sayers wrong and earning their respect.
