This is a film that tries to compile 4 books in one film...ressult: nearly impossible to follow the storyline. And thats quite important in a film. another mistake: Viggo speaks spanish himself...he did his best but his strange accent made him look like a 24h drunk man.
Appart from that...a MASTERPIECE. Never saw scenes like this, light and shadow contrasts in scenes that really seems renaissance and baroc paintings, truly amazing work. And of course, the description of this dark period of history is awesome.
