Matthew Modine plays Birdy, a sensitive soul who has been emotionally/mentally destroyed after his stint in Vietnam and is in an institution. Nicholas Cage is his army friend who has been facially disfigured and has come to try to help Birdy out of his trance-like state.
A moving story of friendship, war and personal loss. I'd highly recommend this.
