Review of Ben-Hur (1959) by Luana M — 07 Mar 2009
No wounder this movie won 11 Academy Awards because it is one of the perfect movies the cinemas have ever seen. Prince Judah Ben-Hur ends up as a galley slave, sent off by his 'friend' Messala.
This was his way to take his vengeance after Ben-Hur refused to divulge the names of Jews who opposed Roman rule. But Judas survives the galleys and returns back to Jerusalem in order to search for his mother and sister, who were also imprisoned.
My favourite scenes are the live battle scene, when Jesus gives Ben-hur water and the chariot race.
