If it wasnt for that flashback in the last third of the movie, this was pushing 4.5 stars. joan chen is magnificent. the music is great. not 1 scene didnt work for me, even the scenes in the flashback were fine by themselves, it was just it's placement in the film, and that it was used as to sort of justify Rose's actions and give her a backstory, something I felt was totally unneccessary.
